I have a deep insight into some special places of religious importance that are really interesting to all, whether you are religious or not.
From the historic ruins of Furness or Shap Abbey to the inspirational spaces of Cartmel Priory, Carlisle Cathedral or Holme Cultraml, right through to Cumbria's Buddhist temples.
We also have "1652 country" for those interested in the Society of Friends, or Quakers with numerous meeting houses and Methodism also has some important sites here in Cumbria.
Cumbria's speciality though are the fantastic parish churches and chapels many with history going back over 1000 years some "in the middle of nowhere." For those needing that contemplative space, these are very special.
Do I have a favourite church? The answer is "no." Every time I visit one of Cumbria's churches that becomes my favourite, until the next one
Food and Drink Tours
With 8 Michelin Starred restaurants including one 3 star Michelin restaurant in Cumbria as well as an incredible variety of inns and pubs, food and drink is high up my visitors agenda.
Cumbria also has some amazing innovative foodie developments from award winning bakeries, cheese makers, breweries, sausage makers, heritage meats, coffee roasters, tea merchants and innovative ice cream makers.
Why not enjoy a cream tea looking over a milking parlour? Enjoy some sheep cheese, even meet the sheep!

Guided Country Walking Tours
Having hiked extensively in the Lake District and completed all 214 Wainwright peaks, actually we call them Fells, let me take you to those secret places.
It doesn't have to be a full ascent of a high peak, there are some fantastic places to visit on a low level, valley or short walk.
Don't miss that amazing waterfall, or that place for a wild swim
Use my knowledge to get you to a place your wouldn't normally visit or to bring a sight to life.

I am also a member of the Wainwright Society so if you have an interest in "AW" I can show you some of the places that were important to him and his story
Famous People Tours
Cumbria has an amazing range of historical figures associated with the area. From the most famous such as children's author Beatrix Potter, Lakes Poet William Wordsworth and his sister Dorothy, Emperor Hadrian (him of the wall!), Founder of the American Navy John Paul Jones to the less well known but equally fascinating author Arthur Ransome, Polymath John Ruskin and Alfred Wainwright to mention just a few.
Whoever you are interested in learning more about or seeing their places brought to life, I can take you there and reveal the inside story. In addition many of the characters are interlinked in a Cumbrian web of influence. Let me reveal those links.
Who's my favourite Cumbrian? Her story literally makes me weep it is so endearing.
